What can we expect from the sequel of Blade Runner? We can definitely expect a dystopian future where humanity is on the brinks of extinction and everything around them is about to collapse. In the style of Ridley Scott, the king who has brought us many legendary sci-fis like Alien, we can also expect a high technology visual effects that can’t be found in the previous installment. The characters will also bring sopphisticated weapons in their hands. With the world getting into the post-truth era since Trump’s victory in US Presidential Election, people would relate more with the idea of dystopian future. Anxiety, depression, fear of the uncertain future, climate change, job-loss, economy fatigue are all parts of today’s society’s problems. It seems that Blade Runner 2049 tries to make impact to its viewers by exploiting the emotions that today’s society feels.
