The Light Between The Ocean is a family drama movie that released this November 2016 and made by a famous director and screenwriter, Derek Cianfrance. This movie is adapted from a novel with the same title written by M. L. Stedman. The story is about a couple who live in the isolated island, Tom Sherbourne (played by Michael Fassbender) and his lovely wife, Isabel Sherbourne (played by Alicia Vikander).
After World War I, Tom Sherbourne take a job as a lighthouse keeper at a small island in the middle of the ocean. Tom and Isabel are contented with their life even though they have no friends in the island. They live happily day by day only just the two of them. However, there is one thing that they always dream about. They dreamt of having a child to complete their perfect life. They have tried their best and hope over and over again, but still their wish is not coming true.
One morning, Tom and Isabel hear a baby crying from the ocean. They are surprised to see a baby in an abandoned rowboat drifting to their island. Then the couple decide to save the baby and give her a name, Luzy. Tom and Isabel who longed for a baby, raise Luzy like their own daughter. Tom and Isabel finally feel that their life is complete, but it is going to change when Luzy grows up.
One day, Tom and Isabel bring Luzy to the main island. They meet Hannah Roennfeldt (played by Rachel Weisz) while in there. Hannah tells them that she felt depressed since her husband and her baby lost in the ocean. Her husband was announced dead, but her baby is still missing. Tom and Isabel have turmoil feeling when they should face a possibility that their Luzy was Hannah’s missing baby.
