Pete’s Dragon (2016) – Movie Plot and Trailer

Posted on

It seems that Disney really intends to make remakes for almost all its remarkable movies in the past. After in the beginning of this year, it is successful with The Jungle Book, now Disney cooperating with the director David Lowery is ready to release Pete’s Dragon from August 12, 2016 in Digital 3-D format and RealD 3D. Pete’s Dragon is a remake for a movie with the same title released in 1977. So, will the newest version be as successful as the prior movie remake from Disney, The Jungle Book?

As the old version released in 1977, Pete’s Dragon tells about the journey of a young boy namely Pete (Oakes Fegley). Pete was not an ordinary 10-year old boy. Pete was lost in the jungle for 6 years, alone, without anybody else who was able to protect him. However, Pete was not really all alone in the jungle. He had a dragon, Elliot. Elliot was more than just a friend for Pete but also as parents.
On the other hand, in Pacific Northwest United States, there was an engraver, Mr Meacham (Robert Redford) who told a fairy tale about a brave dragon to the children in his neighborhood. The brave dragon was lived in a jungle faraway from Pacific Northwest. The same story was also told to his only daughter Grace (Bryce Dallas Howard). Until Grace was growing up and being the guardian of the jungle, she still believed that the dragon was only a fairy tale, not existing in the real world.

Until one day, he heard a story about Pete. Grace knew that Pete was not an ordinary 10 year-old boy who lived far away in the jungle. It was because he was all alone without his parents and a house. Her meeting with Pete made her know all about Elliot, a big and brave dragon which was only an imagination in her mind. Expecting to save Pete and Elliot, Grace was then asking for a help to a little 11 year-old girl, Natalie (Oona Laurence) and her father Jack (Wes Bentley). They started to observe where Pete came from and the truth of the dragon, Elliot.
