The secret life of a pop star is started to expose. Connor (Andy Samberg) is a famous pop star. Yes, he is a very successful singer and rapper with incredible music talents since he was young. His family who realized little Connor’s talent always supports him until finally he becomes a very popular artist.
Connor has everything. Anything deals with celebrity world is all around him starting from fans, bootlickers, famous celebrity squad, a sexy girlfriend, and of course money. However, he suddenly decides to leave all of them because of his own chaotic situation. When Connor plans to finish his second album, the manager, publicists, and even sponsors cannot help him anymore. He really falls down into the darkest point.
All of the friends and even enemies are starting to wonder where Connor goes. Eventually, he goes to visit his and save his old boyband where he already left some years ago. The story is started to flashback from the first time Connor and his friends make a boyband. His best friends are Lawrence (Akiva Schaffer) and Owen (Jorma Taccone) who form a rap group namely The Style Boyz. As Connor Friel is really popular as a music genius, the three are getting more and more fame. Other musicians even start to become their followers. Later, Lawrence realizes that he doesn’t find any proper credit toward the song that makes Connor Friel famous, “Turn up the Beef”. This thing makes Lawrence leaves The Style Boyz, tries a change for solo carrier but fails.
After The Style Boyz is officially broken up, Connor starts his solo carrier under the name Conner4Real with Owen as his DJ. His debut album is really successful in the world charts. In the processing of his second album, he no longer uses Owen but hundred famous producers in order to raise the songs in his album. However, the number of selling in the second album is surprisingly low. This causes his manager, Harry (Tim Meadows) asks for a home appliances company, Aquaspin to sponsor Connor’s tour. As the tour itself is not successful, Connor starts to do many other tricks to keep his popularity, like doing many gimmicks.
