Once a high society rich bachelor who loves to live large enjoying his success with so many adventures, Will Traynor is now a quadriplegic because of an accident. A 26 year old Louisa Clarck is a girl with lack of talent and even less ambition. She has been living under the shadow Treena, her much smarter sister. Will and Louisa who come from two different worlds will make an unprecedented adventure.

Louisa lost her job at local café, a difficult situation as her family depends on her. She went to an unemployment center where Syed, an assistant at that center, referred her for a caregiver position at Granta House, the Traynor family’s residence. She becomes a caregiver for Will.

Working at the Granta House, she’s not only taking care of Will but also reveals the dark stories of the family. Nonetheless, she is able to make Will talk more with open mind including helping him to deal with his intention to kill himself through Dignitas, an assisted suicide organization. They spend most of the days with talking together about many things. Will who discovered about Louisa and her small ambitions, encourages her to change her life. As they become closer, a feeling built among them.

Trying to help Will feeling happier, Louisa asked Treena to help her planning an adventurous vacation for Will. While on vacation she eventually confessed that she knows about Dignitas plan and how she likes him, it ended up with huge disappointment. Will admitted that Louisa helps make his life better but he insists with his plan to end his life. Will back to Granta House alone, only to tell his family that he will continue his plan. Lousia made her way to meet will at Dignitas before his final day. Will died and left Louisa with enough money to help her continue her education.
