Galen Erso (Mads Mikkelsen) was a scientist who run away from Empire living as rebel that feel sorry from what he do for technology that he made for Empire. When Empire found where his living on while he run away, he prepare for his wife and daughter to get away from the stormtroopers that tried to find and caught them after tried to charge Galen Erso. Too bad, the wife, Lyra Erso (Valene Kane) was caught and get shot by Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelshon), an Imperial Senator who found out the Galen Erso. Jyn Erso (kid version) was running away to shelter to avoid the raid of stormtroopers, after while she saved by Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker) who asked by Lyra Erso, a rebel leader on Jedha who save and train her as a soldier for rebel group that he led on.
On different time, Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) who pilot a fighter for Rebel Alliance trying to find what happens on Empire, he got information about the Death Star, a massive weapon that issued can kill a planet. A mission to prevent this weapon is established, and Cassian Andor and modified K-2SO (Alan Tudyk) as partner, was given objective to eliminate Galen Erso. He accidentally met Jyn Erso and find out she was a daughter to his target that he need to eliminated. Bodhi Rook (Riz Ahmed), an Empire Pilot was sent out by Galen Erso to warn Saw Gerrera about the weapon weakness, he met with them and try to tell about the weapon but Saw Gerrera is still freak out and not believe what Bodhi said and throw in the pilot into jail, Cassian and Jyn are trying to infiltrate the Jedha to find out Saw Gerrera whereabout, Cassian Andor and Jyn Erso meet the guardian of temple of Jedi, Chirrut Imwe (Donnie Yen), he was blind warrior and got assisted with heavy soldier Baze Malbus(Wen Jiang) when they are asking about Saw Gerrera on the city, there happen a war between a small group of rebel and stormtroopers, and Cassian who try to help Jyn who accidentally shot a strom trooper, was dragged into fight. Empire who find out about rebellion and prepare to test out the Death Star, the first target is Jedha. Find the result was really good, Jedha was destroyed and removed from space.
They going to find Galen Erso, and found he was outside there, Cassian Andor who felt still having debt to Alliance is trying to kill Galen Erso, but seeing Jyn Erso who trying to save her father in line of his sight, and change his plan. Trying to save Jyn who caught on the middle of fight of Empire who take away Galen Erso to complete the Death Star.
Galen Erso, was dying after explosion and Alliance are running away.
Know the condition about the plan, Cassian Andor is propose an idea to Rebel Alliance for attacking the one of Empire base who had information of the weakness, with the knowledge about weakness of Death Star, but the idea not meet the expectation from leaders of Alliance, after that Jyn Erso who not accepting the result is get help from pilots of Alliance, including Cassian, Bodhi, and the rest of people who run away from Jedha.
They are starting to attack the base, with guerrilla strategy, they set the explosive to lure the enemies. After Cassian Andor and Jyn Erso, get on the base, they are trying to steal what information that related with Death Star. The fight happen and K-2SO is helping out Cassian and Jyn, while Chirrut and Baze helping on the outside. Cassian and Jyn successfully attain the information about weakness of Death Star, but to bad the Death Star was already aim at the base of Empire used to keep the Death Star plan. They found out by remembering what name that always said by Galen Erso to the the daughter, Jyn about “Stardust”, Jyn and Cassian successfully to transmit the information with identification as Stardust to Alliance battle cruiser with help of Bodhi. After the transmission is complete, Death Star was shot the superlaser and destroy the planet, while Cassian and Jyn still on there, they are not leaving and that the story of Rogue One, the backstory of Star Wars that give the reason on Leia and Luke Skywalker can destroy on the first movie of Star Wars.
